UCP attendees may send TWO queries: One to your UCP publisher (subject line: UCP / [PUBLISHER’S NAME]) One to any other publisher on the list (use the regular subject line above). Please submit these in separate emails.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at kidlitvic@gmail.com.

Important Note: There is no obligation for publishers to respond to your query. If they are interested, they will contact you directly.

A Query letter is a way to introduce yourself and your work to a publisher.

It should be no more that one page and contain a short bio, a story pitch, synopsis and/or an outline of your story and your contact details.. It is NOT your entire manuscript. It is a pitch of your manuscript. If the publisher wants to see more, they will request it.

If you are an illustrator – your query can be a short bio, a sample illustration, a link to your social media and/or portfolio, and your contact details.

All query letters should be kept in the body of the email with no attachments
